2nd September is the 200th birthday of J.C. Jacobsen, founder of Carlsberg and father of Carl Jacobsen, founder of Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. The museum is celebrating the occasion with three new works by the Danish painter and graphic artist Jesper Christiansen.
Christiansen interprets various places in Denmark, France and Italy which were important to the old brewing magnate and take as their point of departure the breweries in the Copenhagen suburb of Valby.
J.C. Jacobsen was a pioneer in Danish industry and science and shared with his son Carl a desire to spiritually uplift his fellow Danes through great art. Visitors are invited to embark on a journey in thought, memory and dream.
