The Glyptotek’s collection of French art from the 19th century has undergone a thoroughgoing transformation. Familiar masterpieces and rarely seen works from the museum’s hiding-places are presented in a reverse chronological exhibition sequence. The exhibition ranges over one of the most hectic periods in art history; from the 1920s’ abstract experiments by way of the radical breakthrough of the Impressionists and back to the 1820s’ landscape studies, portraits and history paintings. Take a backward look in history and catch a glimpse into the masterpieces of the collection as they relate to time, development and new departures.

 

There are a limited number of tickets for the guided tours. They cannot be reserved in advance but should be collected from the ticket desk on the day.
