125 years ago, the Glyptotek was inaugurated. On Culture Night, we will celebrate Carl Jacobsen’s dedicated vision of creating a temple of beauty to bring people joy.
The evening will feature a colourful light show and a silent disco in the museum’s Central Hall. Here you can hang out with all the gods and heroes, while listening to a specially composed choral work. The work, created by Valby Vokalgruppe, is inspired by the hymns of antiquity.
Families with children and anyone with a curious spirit can scour the museum’s architecture in quest of mosaics, animals and monsters.
Last but not least, beer-loving visitors can quench their thirst with the Glyptotek’s special anniversary beer, developed in collaboration with the Carlsberg Laboratory.
There will also be an opportunity to enjoy a scrumptious meal in the museum’s café.
TREASURE HUNT – PATTERNS, MONSTERS AND ANIMALS
Using a ‘Glypto Game’, children and their adults can explore the Glyptotek’s highly imaginative, detailed architecture with its abundance of patterns, monsters, fantastical animals and colours.
SILENT DISCO AND COLOURFUL LIGHT SHOW IN THE CENTRAL HALL
Marvel at the museum’s beautiful Central Hall bathed in brilliantly coloured light, to the accompaniment of a specially composed choral work. The work, created especially for the Glyptotek by Valby Vokalgruppe, is based on research into the music of antiquity.
