This concert is not to be missed. Once again, the violinist Julie Eskær and the cellist Emilie Eskær join forces with the award-winning violist Ettore Causa, on this occasion joined by two fabulous young musicians: the Norwegian star violinist and winner of Julliard Violin Concerto Competition Ludvig Gudim and the violist Nicholas Algot Swensen. Together they will be performing string quintets that include two violas, which create a particularly dark, warm sound.

Dvořák’s String Quintet is a kind of musical souvenir from the US city of Spillville. This rustic, optimistic piece features musical inspirations from African American and Native American melodies and songs. In the Brahms work, the music fizzes with colour and life around two more introverted middle movements. As in the Dvořák quintet, the animated Hungarian dance of the final movement adds an element of folk music.
