Suzanne Valadon

/ 10. July 2022
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM

Join a tour of the Glyptotek’s special exhibition devoted to the works of the French painter, Suzanne Valadon (1865-1938). The tour will tell you all about Valadon – the painter and rebel who started her career as an artist’s model for the likes of Renoir, Puvis de Chavannes and Toulouse-Lautrec. With her gender, class and lifestyle, she challenged both the age in which she lived and her social destiny and paved new ways for art with her uncompromising portraits and nude studies of confident women with open, honest bodies and visible pubic hair, painted with powerful contours, visible brushstrokes and saturated colours.
