Join us as the Glyptoteket bids farewell to this season of Rooftop Thursday! 


This evening, you can sample a wide selection of snacks from the rooftop bar and enjoy the view over Tivoli and the rooftops of the city. Together, the snacks make up a meal, and included in the price is a glass of bubbles (or a non-alcoholic alternative). Additional beverages are available for purchase.

At 6:00 PM, Glyptoteket’s curator, Anna Manly, will give a presentation about the museum and the newly opened exhibition “Kai Nielsen – Born of Everyday Life.” 

Invite your friends and enjoy a late summer evening in Copenhagen in beautiful informal settings with an unparalleled view over the city.

Practical Information
The presentation will be in Danish. In case of rain, the event will be moved inside to the Winter Garden. There is a limited number of chairs, so be prepared to enjoy the event standing or sitting on stairs.

Included in the ticket 

  • Admission to the museum all day 
  • +5 different snacks, together forming a meal 
  • A glass of bubbles or non-alcoholic alternative 
  • Brief presentation by Anna Manly (approximately 20 min.) 

Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferred to others. 

You are welcome on the terrace from 5:30 PM. The talk starts at 6:00 PM and lasts approximately 20 minutes. However, feel free to arrive whenever it suits you.

Note: In case of rain, the Thursday bar will be moved under the palm trees in the Winter Garden. 

About Rooftop Thursdays
Rooftop Thursday is the Glyptoteket’s summer bar. It’s open every Thursday throughout the summer. Some Thursdays feature special programs that require separate tickets. On other days, you can drop in whenever you like for a cool drink and some crispy snacks. 

Remember, you have free access to the museum all day, where in addition to our permanent collection, you can experience special exhibitions such as “After Nature – Josefine Klougart Revisits Glyptoteket’s Paintings,” “Kai Nielsen – Born of Everyday Life,” and the international artist duo Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme. Access Conditions
There is an elevator up to the rooftop terrace, but there are an additional ten steps to the bar. The event is primarily standing, and there are only a limited number of seats on the rooftop terrace. Information on accessibility with wheelchairs, companion scheme, etc. can be found here. 

Thursday Dish in the Café
Every Thursday, the museum’s café, Picnic, serves a well-composed Thursday dish that can be enjoyed in the café by the Winter Garden. See menu etc. here.
