Winter Break: Tales from Another World

/ 10. February 2025
11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Put on your headphones and settle down on the blankets in the Winter Garden under the palm trees. We’ll share myths and stories—about Greek gods, strange artists, and forgotten wars. Through these tales, you’ll get to know the Glyptotek’s sculptures. We’ll also provide small creative tasks so you can work with your hands as you listen.

vinterferie

On Tuesdays and Wednesdays (in Week 7 and Week 8), we’ll welcome Signe Danielsen, who will read (In Danish) from her retelling of Gilgamesh — the world’s oldest story about friendship.

The story revolves around King Gilgamesh and his friendship with the wild man Enkidu, about acting madly without reason, and about the fear of death. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to talk with Signe about this strange tale.

At 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM, there will be a guided tour of the museum with one of the hosts (IN DANISH).

The guided tour is in Danish and free with paid museum admission. Guided tour tickets cannot be reserved and must be picked up at the ticket counter on the day of your visit. Tickets are not issued to groups larger than five. Larger groups are encouraged to book a private tour.

Please note that we are open on Monday, February 10th and 17th (normally closed).
