The collection of the Danish Painting from the last 100 years reflects the various trends in art, internationally and locally. Groups of artists are represented by the Skagen Painters and the Funen Painters, Naturalism by Vilhelm Hammershøi, classical Modernism early in the 20th century by Harald Giersing, Karl Isakson, and Edvardd Weie, and the new Realism in the 1970s by Niels Strøbek.
