Egypt IV

Egypt IV

The final phase of the history of Ancient Egypt is marked by the incursions of foreign powers and political unrest, but despite these violent upheavals, Egyptian art continued to distinguish itself. The artists of the period looked to their predecessors and drew inspiration from past masters, whose stylistic traits and motifs they incorporated into their own innovative and technically superb works.

For the first time, this volume provides a collective presentation of Late Egyptian sculpture as it is represented at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptoteket. The book presents 150 works, each accompanied by a brief commentary and illustrated with detailed photographs.
