Necklace inspired by an Egyptian ring. Rings appeared in Egypt as early as the first dynasties and were commonly worn from the Middle Kingdom onwards. At that time, the ring often had the shape of a beetle, a protective animal that symbolizes the sun’s daily rebirth, and it can be turned and used as a seal. This pendant bears the name and titles of the scribe and director of King Iâhmès’ harem.
