FAQ and guidelines for creating your event at the Glyptotek

The Glyptotek primarily functions as a museum but also hosts events.

Below are guidelines for creating your event.

Suppliers:

As a Grade I listed building with priceless objects, clients must choose from our Approved Suppliers for catering, production, and floristry. Trusted companies familiar with the venue are recommended due to short setup times.

Conservation Regulations:

Due to the building’s delicate nature, conservation regulations apply. Dancing is prohibited.

Dark/strong-colored food and drink are allowed only at seated dinners. Prohibited items include fire, fireworks, dry ice, glitter, animals, helium balloons, paint, ink, and hairspray.

Standard Hire Times:

Dinner hire is from 17:30 to 23:00. Setup begins earlier for museum staff.

Event Finish Time Extension:

Events can extend until midnight.

Unavailable Venue Hire Days:

Venue hire is unavailable on Thursdays. All other evenings are open for hire.

Provisional Date Holding:

Clients can hold up to two dates free of charge and obligation. A decision is requested after an in-person museum visit.

Booking Confirmation:

After a tour, confirm your booking by signing the venue hire contract (available on request) and paying a 50% deposit.
