Description
Snow globe with ballerina and gold glitter. Inspired by Edgar Degas’ (1834-1917) “The Little Fourteen-year-old dancer” (1878-81).
The Glyptotek owns one of three existing, complete sets of Degas’ sculptures, cast in bronze after his death. None of them were exhibited during the artist’s lifetime, except for one: this little ballerina, which Degas showed in wax at the Sixth Impressionist Exhibition in Paris in 1881.
Material: plastic and resin
