Welcome to a summer full of great experiences at the Glyptotek!

Enjoy the sunshine and beautiful view from the roof terrace or seek shelter under the palm trees of the Winter Garden, depending on the plans of the weather gods.

The summer program offers colorful French paintings, fun activities for children and their adults, Thursday bar and great vibes on the roof terrace, guided tours and much more.

Special Exhibition

Visit the special exhibition Suzanne Valadon – model, painter, rebel and discover one of the influential artists in the effervescent Parisian art world of the 19th century.

With her gender, class and lifestyle, Valadon defied her social destiny, paving new ways for art with uncompromising portraits and nude studies painted with powerful contours, visible brushstrokes and saturated colours.

The Small Salon – Paul Gauguin and the Danish conncetion
You can also see the small thematic exhibition about the French artist Paul Gauguin’s residence in Copenhagen and the artist’s wife, Mette Gauguin.

Roof Terrace

Enjoy the sun and the beautiful view of Copenhagen on the roof terrace of the Glyptotek.

Pop-up café
All summer, you can visit Picnic’s pop-up café on the roof terrace. Enjoy cold drinks, snacks, coffee and cake while enjoying the view of the city towers.

Opening hours:
Every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm in June
From 1 July, Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm up to and including 28 August.

Thursday on the Roof
Every Thursday throughout the summer you can try out the best Thursday bar in Copenhagen. The setting is laid-back, and we encourage you to mingle with the other guests.

With Children

At the Glyptotek, children and their adults can explore the museum’s collections together. Put on headphones and listen to marvelous stories at the listening stations or explore the museum halls with our Glypto games in hand.

Patterns and Monsters – The Glyptotek’s Clay Studio
Throughout the summer children of all ages, together with their adults, can try their hand at making clay impressions in the Glyptotek’s clay studio.

Guided Tours

Join a free guided tour every Sunday in July and August.

Learn all about the Glyptotek’s founder, brewing magnate Carl Jacobsen and his passion for sculpture, or dive down into the best of the best from the Glyptotek’s Egyptian collection.

Summer Concerts

Experience world class musicians amongst Roman gods and heroes, when we invite you to a new season of classical summer concerts in the beautiful Central Hall of the museum.

Every Sunday in August and September.

Special Exhibition

Experience the special exhibition about the French artist, Suzanne Valadon, who defied the odds to become a successful painter.
