Painting from Denmark’s Golden Age is well represented at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. Several major works were acquired during the last century by the Museum’s founder, the brewer Carl Jacobsen, and since then the Museum has continued to place emphasis on art from this period. The Glyptotek owns works by leading painters such as Abildgaard, Eckersberg, Købke and Lundbye, but lesser known Golden Age painters such as Lorenz Frølich and Dankvart Dreyer are also well represented.
